Rosé is a type of wine made from red wine grapes, produced in a similar manner to red wine, but with reduced time fermenting with grape skins. The colour comes from the pigmentation of the skin of the grapes. The longer the maceration period (soaking) the darker the pink colour. This pink colour has become known to go to summer drinks. The process involves red grapes that are juiced and left to soak (macerate) with their skins for a day or two until the juice turns a subtle pink color. The grape skins are then removed and the juice continues to ferment. Blush wine is different to Rose wine and involves a mixture of Red and White grapes.

The most famous region of Rose is Côtes de Provence. Rosé made in Provence is typically made from Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and Syrah grapes.

Rosé wine production is not only made in Provence and can be made all over the world, countries include Italy, Spain. French, Spanish, and Italian rosés, along with other wines made in Europe, are called Old World, while rosé made in California, Australia, Argentina, or anywhere outside of Europe are called New World.

Pinot Grigio Blush, Italy – Veneto (£12.90/Bottle)

Grape Variety: Pinot Grigio

Alcohol: 11.50%

Distinctive, prestige wine, lightly copperish and vibrant in colour with anelegant, pleasantly-fruity bouquet and a typical flavour reminiscent of citrus and wild flowers, offset by a harmonious acidulous aftertaste. Gently mineral,this blush Pinot Grigio reveals unique character, light backbone and wide- spectrum texture.

Food Pairing: It perfectly matches with fresh vegetables, light soups, finger-food and seafood. Ideal partner of shellfish, due to its superbly-balanced acidulous aftertaste.

Merlot Rosato, Italy – Veneto (£12.90/Bottle)

Grape Variety: Merlot

Alcohol:11.50% 

Clear, bright, still rosé wine with subtle ruby-red tinges and a generous, light, pleasantly-fruity aroma. On the palate it reveals fresh notes of violet, lavender and Parma violet.

Food Pairing: Well-rounded, extremely fresh, pleasantly drinking wine, making an ideal accompaniment for every day entire meal. Excellent during hot seasons, thanks to its thirst-quenching delightful flavour.

Pinot Grigio Blush, Italy – Friuli (£15.45/Bottle)

Grape Variety: Pinot Grigio

Alcohol:12.50%

Intense pink colour with coppery glints. The nose reveals notes of banana with a nice fermentation aftertaste. It is full-bodied, good structured, savoury with a long persistence in the mouth.

Food Pairing: Excellent as an aperitif and main dishes prepared with fish.

French Wines

Sancerre Rose, France – Loire (£24.20/Bottle)

The Raimbault family has been growing grapes in the Verdigny district of France for ten generations. Experience, technical know-how and nature combine to allow us to produce wines of great quality, respecting the typical characteristics of each vintage. The estate is located in the heart of the Sancerre vineyard.

Grape Variety: Pinot Noir

Alcohol: 13.50%

Colour is bright, cherry purple. On the nose its Intense and fruity with a dash of spice and on the palate flavours of red, forest fruit with silky tannins.

Food Pairing:It goes well with charcuterie, red and white meats, as well as cheese and fish.

FineS Rose, France – Beaujolais (£15.55/Bottle)

Oedoria is located on the gently sloping hills blessed with remarkable sun exposure, Gamay, Chardonnay and Pinot noir express their richly diverse aromas that result in such fabulous blends.

This is a fun Rose, made from the Gamay grape it is sweet and bubbly.

Alcohol: 7%
